The National Weather Service has extended its dense fog advisory to until 11 p.m. on Friday.

UPDATE (1:08 p.m., Jan. 11, 2013): The National Weather Service has extended its dense fog advisory to until 11 p.m. Friday.

Here's the full text of the newly issued advisory:

...AREAS OF DENSE FOG WILL PERSIST INTO THIS EVENING FOR PARTS OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN MINNESOTA AND WESTERN WISCONSIN...

.AREAS OF DENSE FOG WILL PERSIST THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING ACROSS PARTS OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN MINNESOTA AND WESTERN WISCONSIN. VISIBILITIES AROUND ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS ARE EXPECTED AT TIMES. AREAS IN MINNESOTA THAT ARE MOST SUSCEPTIBLE TO DENSE FOG ARE THOSE NORTH AND WEST OF A MONTEVIDEO TO PAYNESVILLE TO LITTLE FALLS LINE...AND ALSO ALONG INTERSTATE 90 NEAR THE IOWA BORDER. IN WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN...THE MOST WIDESPREAD DENSE FOG WILL OCCUR EAST OF A DURAND TO TURTLE LAKE LINE.

...DENSE FOG ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM CST THIS EVENING...

* VISIBILITY...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS THROUGH THIS EVENING.

* IMPACTS...REDUCED VISIBILITY MAY MAKE FOR DIFFICULT TRAVEL CONDITIONS.

A DENSE FOG ADVISORY MEANS VISIBILITIES WILL FREQUENTLY BE REDUCED TO LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE. IF DRIVING...SLOW DOWN... USE YOUR HEADLIGHTS...AND LEAVE PLENTY OF DISTANCE AHEAD OF YOU.

AREAS MOST SUSCEPTIBLE TO DENSE FOG ARE THOSE SOUTH OF A LINE FROM NEW ULM TO JORDAN TO LAKE ELMO IN MINNESOTA...AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM NEW RICHMOND TO CORNELL IN WISCONSIN. * VISIBILITY...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MIDDAY FRIDAY.

* IMPACTS...REDUCED VISIBILITY MAY MAKE FOR DIFFICULT TRAVEL CONDITIONS LATE TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. IN ADDITION... ISOLATED LOCATIONS THAT MAY DROP TO FREEZING MAY EXPERIENCE FREEZING FOG WHICH MAY CREATE SLICK SPOTS ON SIDEWALKS AND ROADS.

A DENSE FOG ADVISORY MEANS VISIBILITIES WILL FREQUENTLY BE REDUCED TO LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE. IF DRIVING...SLOW DOWN... USE YOUR HEADLIGHTS...AND LEAVE PLENTY OF DISTANCE AHEAD OF YOU.
