Big Lots Planning April Opening in Falls

The retailer, along with Jo-Ann Fabrics, will fill a longtime vacancy in a prominent Falls shopping center.

Big Lots Planning April Opening in Falls

Spring means new beginnings, and that’s especially true in the North Pointe shopping center across from Menomonee Falls High School along Appleton Avenue.

In September, Patch reported that both Big Lots and Jo-Ann Fabrics would move into the largest vacancies in the retail center on Northpoint Drive. Originally, it was reported that the Big Lots was shooting for a pre-Christmas opening date. Of course, that didn’t occur.

However, on Tuesday a broker with the center said Big Lots has a tentative opening date slotted for April. Big Lots currently operates two stores in Milwaukee and one store in West Allis. The company is the nation’s largest brand-name closeout retailer and operates more than 1,400 stores in 48 states.

Jo-Ann Fabrics will relocate from its location further north on Appleton Avenue. They plan to open sometime in June. For roughly two years - since the Super Pick’n Save opened across the street - the shopping center has been home to one of the larger vacancies in Falls.
