The Menomonee Falls Police Department responded to a series of thefts from vehicles last week in the village.
Between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, a person smashed the passenger’s side window of a silver Ford Escape, which was parked on the W21000 block of Silver Spring Drive. The thief stole gift cards, Ray-Ban sunglasses, and a pink leather wallet.
Between 8:45 a.m. and 9:50 a.m. Saturday, a person smashed the windows of two vehicles parked outside the Tri-County YMCA. One vehicle owner reported nothing stolen; however, the owner of an Acura reported a Coach purse and a Samsung Smartphone were stolen. Total damage and loss to property is estimated at $850.
Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 2, a 19-year-old girl’s backpack was stolen from her unlocked vehicle either at Woodman’s or Applebee’s – she wasn’t certain. Her backpack contained a laptop.

- Police were dispatched at 11:25 p.m. Saturday to a home on the W19000 block of Pleasant View Drive. Officers found the sourced of the noise, and a 37-year-old Tomahawk woman was sitting in her vehicle in the driveway with a glass pipe in plain sight. Officers found another pipe and marijuana in the vehicle. She was arrested an booked for possession of drug paraphernalia.
- An unknown person used a rock to damage the rear window at Griddlers Café sometime between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 10:10 a.m. Saturday. The window was broken, but it didn’t appear that the vandal was attempting to break in.
- A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct after throwing a rock through an apartment window on the W15000 block of Cleveland Avenue. The man apparently showed up at the apartment to fight another person, and threw the rock while leaving.
- A Target security employee received an alert that a male suspect was seen leaving a Wauwatosa Target location immediately after seeing a security guard on Thursday. The Falls officer caught the same suspect stealing a 40-inch television valued at $549 from the Menomonee Falls location.
