Falls Police Catch Downtown Burglar

Officer caught a 32-year-old Milwaukee man in the act just as he was about to burglarize Rincon Mexicano.

Falls Police Catch Downtown Burglar

A 32-year-old Wauwatosa man was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday for allegedly burglarizing several businesses in downtown Menomonee Falls.

According to the criminal complaint:

On Aug. 11, a Falls police officer was surveying businesses in the area when he noticed 32-year-old Scott M. Laskowski pull behind , get out of his car, put on gloves and then try to pry the rear door of the business open. The officer then immediately arrested Laskowski and found burglary tools and a crack pipe on his possession.

Just a week prior, Laskowki broke into , N89W16687 Church St., and stole cash out of a cash register and vending machine, along with peanuts, kettle corn and chedder cheese flavored Combos snacks. The burglary was similar to others that in the downtown area at businesses including , and .

After further investigating Laskowski officers found snacks in his residence matching those stolen from the tattoo shop and also discovered Laskowski was suspected in the burglary of several businesses in Wauwatosa.

Laskowski was charged Monday with one count of burglary, one count of attempted burglary, one count of possession of burglarious tools and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted he faces up to 22 years in prison and $48,000 in fines.

Laskowski is currently being held in Waukesha County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
