FBI Proposal Gets Green Light in Menomonee Falls

Menomonee Falls is officially in the running as one of three communities hoping to attract the FBI regional headquarters, which is looking to move out of Milwaukee.

The Menomonee Falls Village Board gave final approval to Florida-based Proccaci Development’s request to secure an office lease and renovate the former health clinic on Town Hall Road. Procacci would then lease the building to the FBI, which would serve as the regional headquarters. Trustee Michael McDonald said the FBI is moving from their Milwaukee location because it is a multi-tenant office building on Kilbourn Avenue, and they want to ensure the security of their employees and operations.

“This would be a real boon for our community because they would be relocating their entire operations on this site,” said McDonald. “It would be a complete remodeling of this building.”

Trustees were not certain what other communities were under consideration.

The interior of the building would be completely renovated to meet the specifications of an FBI facility. The plan also includes construction of a perimeter security fence around the site, two security gates and a covered secure parking area. Additionally, the plans include some open green space and a basketball court within the complex.

Froedtert Health vacated its 43-year-old former building in December when operations moved into a five-story, newly constructed facility across the street at W180N8000 Town Hall Rd.

The Milwaukee regional FBI office specializes in evidence recovery and processing, computer forensics, tactical support and crisis response, bomb recovery and analysis, translation, and hazardous materials. The Milwaukee branch employs a team of special agents in each of those areas.
