The Rivers of Lake Michigan and the Important Role They Serve
The Menomonee Falls Public Library will host an evening with John Gurda Tuesday in the community room.

Gurda is the author of "The Making of Milwaukee," and will be speaking at 7 p.m. Tuesday about the important role rivers served in this region of the state. His presentation will examine how rivers were used by the community for recreation, transportation, and how they've weathered cycles of heavy use to remain focal points in our communities.

The program is free, and is underwritten by a DNR grant and coordinated by UW-Extension. Registration is not required, but seating may be limited.
