Drunk Urine-Drenched Man Proclaims Cop 'An Idiot,' Complaint Says

A urine-soaked New Berlin man is facing charges after he tried to stop cops from arresting him during a drunken Friday night stumble through downtown Waukesha in August, according to a criminal complaint.

Paul A. Ivkovich, 54, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Wednesday with one count of obstructing an officer. If convicted, he faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines.

At 8:32 p.m. Aug. 24, a Waukesha police officer was on foot patrol near West Main Street and Gaspar Street, where he found Ivkovich stumbling down the street with his crotch and inner part of his pants soaked, according to the complaint. A large pool of urine was nearby, so the officer decided to confront him.

Ivkovich had very slow and slurred speech and the officer spotted an open bottle of Karkov Vodka in his pocket. The officer placed him under arrest for disorderly conduct, but Ivkovich began to tense up as the officer tried to handcuff him, according to the criminal complaint.

The officer tried taking Ivkovich back to a squad car, but he would stop and plant his feet, but another officer was able to eventually help get him in the squad. Once inside, the complaint states, he yelled at the cops telling them “you’re an idiot.”

Ivkovich will make his initial appearance in court Oct. 15.
