Fire On The Strand Quickly Escalated: Report
A sudden rush of air caused the car fire to burst into a full garage fire. Nobody was hurt, and firefighters prevented it from spreading.

WAUKESHA, WI — Firefighters in Waukesha battled a blaze late Wednesday after a car fire quickly escalated into a garage fire.
Waukesha Fire and Police were dispatched for a reported vehicle fire inside a detached garage at 1204 The Strand. When they arrived, firefighters found a 2-car detached garage with one vehicle inside on fire.
Fire officials said as firefighters were stretching hose lines, the garage's overhead door collapsed down, creating a rush of air causing the fire to flash and engulf the entire interior of the garage.

Officials said that firefighters were able to quickly pull the overhead door down and extinguish the fire, keeping it contained to the garage. Firefighters worked quickly to make sure that the fire did not spread to the main structure 15 feet away.
There were no injuries reported, though damage to the garage has been estimated at greater than $20,000. The cause remains under investigation but does not appear to suspicious in nature, Waukesha fire reported.
