It's Time for "The Talk"

Talking about "it" is tough...but when it comes to pets, talking about it can SAVE LIVES.

It's Time for "The Talk" It's Time for "The Talk"

At HAWS, we’re concerned that not everyone has “the talk” with their pets…or with each other about their pets!

Did you know that spaying and neutering saves lives? And not just by avoiding those unwanted litters! Spay or neuter surgeries can also prevent health conditions and behavior problems…2 things that often lead to pets becoming residents of HAWS.

World Spay Day is Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Once again, HAWS is marking the occasion (no pun intended!) with grants for free spays and neuters to those Waukesha County residents who qualify. Surf on over to our Spay-Neuter Initiative Program webpage to see if you qualify for a World Spay Day grant!

Got outdoor cats? HAWS’ Project Guardian is a free spay-neuter program for those County residents dealing with cat overpopulation. Learn more at our Project Guardian webpage.

Want to help save lives? YOU can get involved through a Sponsor-A-Spay donation, buy purchasing a limited edition World Spay Day t-shirt at HAWS, and by forwarding this post to anyone who might need our help. (They can call us at 262.542.8851, x109 for details, too.)

We KNOW we’re making progress:  Together we can end pet overpopulation!

By the way – HAWS will be joining in the fun at the Great Lakes Pet Expo this Saturday at the State Fair Park Expo Center. Come visit with our Mobile Adoption Center  crew and our adoptable pets, and learn more about how you can be part of the “HAWS Cause.”
