Waukesha West High School was temporarily put on lockdown early Tuesday morning following an apparent medical emergency

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha West High School was temporarily put on lockdown early Tuesday morning following an apparent medical emergency in one of the school's health rooms, according to a report brought to the attention of Patch.com
According to an alert that was forwarded to Patch, school officials were alerted to a concern in the health room, and the decision was made to place the building under lockdown as a precautionary measure. In gathering more information, first responders quickly determined the situation was an isolated medical emergency. Following that determination, the school downgraded the lockdown to a lockout until the situation was resolved.
Officials said in a notice Tuesday morning, "We understand the feelings of fear and anxiety that arise from such a situation, and want to assure you that our goal is always to work through these events as quickly as possible while also attending to procedural checklists to ensure that our plans are the best they can be."

Waukesha Patch reached out to the Waukesha School District regarding the lockdown, which issued the following reply, "The school district has nothing to report on this."
