Cyclist Alerts Police After Finding Woman Passed out in Car With 4-Year-Old Child Inside

A 25-year-old woman has been ordered into court after she reportedly passed out in her car with a four-year-old child while high on Cocaine.

WAUWATOSA -- A 25-year-old woman has been ordered into court after she reportedly passed out in her car while high on cocaine - with a four-year-old child in the car.

According to her criminal complaint, an alert bicyclist in Wauwatosa flagged down police after he observed a running Chevrolet Blazer with a small child crying on the front passenger seat at 4000 block Menomonee River Parkway in July.

The cyclist observed Amber Pearson, 25, passed out in the driver’s seat. He attempted to wake her but was unsuccessful, the complaint said.

Responding officers observed Pearson to be unresponsive with her eyes rolled upwards and pale chalky skin. She was not breathing normally and her pulse was slow. Wauwatosa Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and began treating the defendant, reviving her with Narcan, the complaint said.

Responding officers observed several pieces of drug paraphernalia on the passenger seat within easy reach of a 4-year-old child. Officers recovered a corner cut plastic bag with gray powder in the cup holder in the center console, two silver metal caps with residue, a bloody paper towel and two hypodermic needles, one with liquid inside. The grey powdery substance was forwarded to the Wisconsin State Crime Lab where Laboratory Analysts tested the substance and determined that it contained 0.0506 grams of Fentanyl, the complaint said.

Pearson was conveyed to Froedtert Memorial Hospital where, within three hours of Pearson's operation of the motor vehicle, tests determined Pearson's blood contained 67 ng/mL of Cocaine, the complaint stated.

According to court records, Pearson has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a minor child in the vehicle, operating with a restricted controlled substance in blood with a minor child in vehicle, possession of narcotic drugs and child neglect.
