WAUWATOSA, WI — Work on a Wauwatosa home construction site came to an abrupt stop on last week, after what appeared to be parts of a human skull and additional bones were unearthed from the muddy ground.
The Milwaukee County Medical examiner has determined that the bones dug up by a construction crew trying to pour a new home foundation were, in fact, human and decades-old.
According to a CBS 58 report Tuesday, the human skull found on the site is now being sent to The University of North Texas to their Center for Human Identification for further analysis by a forensic anthropologist.

According to a report from FOX 6, a foundation hole was already dug for a new home on the 1700 block of Underwood ave. on Friday, and construction workers were set to begin pouring the foundation when the discovery was made.

Wauwatosa Police were called to the scene, and later officials from the Wisconsin Department of Justice collected evidence on the damp Friday afternoon.
Neighbor Chris Johnson told FOX 6 that the previous home, which was torn down "... was condemned by the health department and then completely gutted because it was full of a lot of garbage and some neighbors had seen some rats ... It's just pretty surreal."
