Dominican Boys Advance to Sectionals

The defending Division 4 champion Dominican boys basketball team will advance to sectionals this year after a 82-62 win over Young Coggs Prep Saturday night.

Young Coggs was seeded fifth in its sectional bracket, while Dominican is seeded first. Duane Wilson led Dominican in scoring with 26 points, while sophomore Diamond Stone scored 22 points. D'Landric Winzer led Young Coggs Prep's scoring with 35 points.

To get to Saturday night's game, Dominican had to beat out HOPE Christian, which it did with an easy 95-50 victory on Friday night. Wilson scored 28 points in that game, and Stone scored 17 points.

With Saturday night's win, Dominican will advance to play Kenosha St. Josephs at Milwaukee South at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Dominican beat Kenosha St. Joseph's earlier this year.
