AL Families Can Earn Free Pizza Through Summer Reading Program

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama families looking to keep children reading over the summer can once again earn free pizza through the Pizza Hut BOOK IT! Summer of Stories program.

The annual literacy initiative is open to families with children in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade and runs from June 1 through Aug. 31.

Participants who meet their monthly reading goals can earn a free Personal Pan Pizza from over participating Pizza Hut locations in Alabama.

There are currently 143 locations in the state.

Enrollment for the program opened May 1 through the free BOOK IT! mobile app, available for Apple and Android devices.

Parents can create individual profiles for each child, set personalized monthly reading goals and track their progress throughout the summer.

Children who achieve their goals each month are eligible to claim a free pizza reward.

The program is designed to help students maintain reading skills during the summer break, when educators warn that children can lose academic ground without regular practice.

Families across Florida are eligible to participate as long as they have children in pre-K through sixth grade. Participation is free.

To enroll, parents should:

• Download the BOOK IT! app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
• Complete the enrollment form.
• Create a profile for each child and establish a monthly reading goal.
• Begin tracking reading progress.
• Redeem a free Personal Pan Pizza after each monthly goal is met.

The offer is limited to one certificate per participating child during each program period and is redeemable only at participating Pizza Hut locations.

The certificates are non-transferable and are not valid at Pizza Hut Express locations or restaurants co-located with Taco Bell or KFC.
