Alabama couple alleges Elkhart County RV dealer scammed them out of thousands of dollars (abc57.com) — A Birmingham couple says they paid more than $13,000 toward a custom RV from an Indiana dealer and now fear they've been scammed after months without a finished camper or clear communication. They've contacted the Indiana attorney general, consumer protection experts, and the Better Business Bureau, while the dealer's website has gone offline and the listed business address appears to be a different company under construction.
   

4. Second major brush fire this week burns more than 200 acres in Jefferson County (al.com) — Wildfire crews have contained a more than 200-acre brush fire in west Jefferson County, while another blaze continues to burn at Oak Mountain State Park. Monday also brought a machinery fire at American Cast Iron Pipe Co. in the Birmingham area, underscoring how dry, windy conditions are keeping local firefighters busy across central Alabama.
   

5. Local schools ranked among Alabama's best high schools (280living.com) — Several high schools serving the Birmingham metro area, including Spain Park, Oak Mountain, and Chelsea, have been ranked among Alabama's best by U.S. News & World Report. These schools posted strong test scores, high AP participation, and notable college readiness, significantly outperforming statewide averages and highlighting solid options for Birmingham-area families planning for high school and college.
