• State legislators pass out discretionary money to Hoover schools (hooversun.com) — Two state representatives are sending more than $90,000 in discretionary funds directly to Hoover schools, with money earmarked for fine arts, athletics, and specific campuses like Bluff Park, Gwin, Spain Park and Hoover High. The Hoover Board of Education has already received part of the funding, with more checks headed to individual schools soon.
• Broad Metro buys 65 acres in Hoover for Stadium Trace Village expansion (abc3340.com) — A major expansion of Stadium Trace Village is moving forward after Broad Metro bought 65 more acres in Hoover for Phase Three, a mix of retail, offices, medical space and luxury residences. The $4.6 million deal completes the needed land, following earlier Hoover City Council approval of Phase Two, and signals more growth and amenities coming to the area.
• Hoover Police want to know if you've seen a man wanted for questioning in credit card fraud cases (wbrc.com) — Hoover Police are asking residents to help identify a man wanted for questioning in several felony credit card fraud cases tied to Hoover and nearby counties. If you recognize him, you can contact a Hoover detective, call 911 or the non-emergency line, or share anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers for a possible cash reward.
