Coaches and players praised the technology used in Hoover, which mirrored Major League Baseball's version and produced a high rate of successful challenges this season.
   

• Police arrest registered sex offender who rented Pelham rec center space under alias to coach youth (wvtm13.com) — Pelham police arrested a registered sex offender accused of using an alias to rent space at the city's recreation center for private youth basketball training, though no complaints have been reported about his conduct there. Court records show he was previously arrested in Hoover in 2018 in connection with an incident at a Christian academy gym where he had rented space to coach.
