Hoover Planning Commission to consider 8 new residential lots in Inverness (hooversun.com subscription) — Hoover's Planning and Zoning Commission will weigh new residential lots in Inverness and several other neighborhood changes Tuesday evening at City Hall. From Everlee's next phase to Trace Crossings, Riverchase, Green Valley, Shades Mountain, and Blackridge, the agenda includes rezonings and lot consolidations that could reshape traffic, housing options, and nearby green space for many Hoover residents.
2. 40 restaurants fail health inspections in August (wbrc.com) — Hoover diners should know several local spots, including Golden Corral, Ross Bridge Grocery, Dessert Corner, Bawarchi Indian Cuisine, and Asher Point Independent Living, recently failed Jefferson County health inspections with scores below 85. Inspectors cited issues like unsafe food temperatures, pests, sewage problems, and expired training, though some locations have already improved on reinspection while others await follow-up checks.
3. Woman found dead in Hoover community pool; 30-year-old charged with murder (cbs42.com) — A 70-year-old Hoover woman died after being found unresponsive in a Little Valley Road community pool Thursday night, and police are investigating her death as a homicide. Officers quickly detained an acquaintance nearby, and 30-year-old Hoover native Anastasia Sudarsana has now been charged with murder and is being held without bond while the Jefferson County Coroner completes its review.
4. Judge reinstates bond for woman charged in deadly Hoover crash (abc3340.com) — A judge has reinstated bond for Sarah Rose Tisdale, the woman charged in a deadly Hoover crash, but ordered her on strict electronic-monitoring lockdown with limited reasons to leave home. After earlier monitoring problems and time in jail, the court warned that any further noncompliance could send her back into custody, with another review set for September 14.
5. Junior League of Montgomery is Celebrating its 100th Anniversary (wvasfm.org) — Hoover police recently arrested Alabama Adventure owner Daniel Koch on a felony domestic violence by strangulation charge after responding to a disturbance at his suburban home; he was later released on bond. The same roundup notes Montgomery's Junior League centennial Holiday Market plans, heavy and costly Labor Day travel, and Governor Kay Ivey's College Colors Day proclamation.
