'Heartbreaking': Huntsville's Nepalese community reacts to catastrophic flooding in homeland (waff.com) — Huntsville's Nepalese community is reeling as catastrophic floods in Nepal leave more than 1,500 people missing, even as most local families' loved ones are safe. Local leaders urge Huntsville residents to donate through Nepal's official relief fund and, just as importantly, to check in on Nepalese neighbors who are grieving from afar.

2. AG Marshall announces Court of Criminal Appeals upholds conviction, death sentence in murder of Huntsville Police Officer Billy Clardy III (thecoosacountynews.com) — State officials have upheld the conviction and death sentence for the man found guilty of killing Huntsville Police Agent Billy Clardy III during a 2019 drug operation tied to marijuana trafficking in Huntsville. The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals affirmed the capital murder verdict and death penalty, following a Madison County trial where jurors saw body-camera footage of the shooting and arrest. This ruling closes another chapter in a case that deeply affected Huntsville's law enforcement community.

3. Limestone Co. investigators arrest Huntsville man on child solicitation charge (whnt.com) — A Huntsville man has been arrested after Limestone County investigators say he tried to arrange sexual acts online with someone he believed was a child, who was actually an undercover officer. Authorities charged him with electronic solicitation of a child, and he's being held in the Limestone County Jail while a judge sets bond. Investigators say they'll continue monitoring online spaces to protect local children.

4. Nurses find way to fulfill terminal patient's wish to be baptized (wng.org) — Nurses at Huntsville Hospital went to remarkable lengths to honor a terminally ill patient's wish to be baptized before she left this life. Using a kiddie pool, improvised equipment, and their own money, they created a safe way for her son to perform the ceremony right in her ICU room. The touching effort highlights the compassionate care many Huntsville families encounter in local hospitals.

5. Registered Nurses, Retail Salespersons top list of Alabama's most in-demand jobs (waff.com) — Alabama's latest jobs report shows strong demand for Registered Nurses, retail workers, and customer service reps, with Huntsville Hospital leading all employers statewide in online job postings.
