Huntsville International Airport CEO to retire (whnt.com) — Huntsville International Airport CEO Butch Roberts will retire January 1, 2027, after four decades with the Port of Huntsville, handing leadership to current chief legal officer Amy Murphree on December 1. Roberts is credited with expanding flights, adding Allegiant Air, driving major terminal and parking projects, and securing a commercial space vehicle landing license to support the region's rapid growth.
   

2. Toys 'R' Us opening new Huntsville shop (whnt.com) — A new Toys 'R' Us Express pop-up shop is coming to Huntsville's Bridge Street Town Centre, bringing the iconic toy brand back to local shoppers. The 528-square-foot store will sit near the fountain across from Great American Cookie, though an exact opening date hasn't been announced yet.
   

3. Huntsville Flock camera forum to put access, oversight questions before police (waff.com) — Huntsville residents can question police and city leaders today at a 4 p.m. forum at City Hall about how Flock license plate cameras are used, who can access them, and what oversight exists. With privacy and transparency concerns growing, this is the first dedicated public meeting where residents can directly press officials and advocate for more community input on the city's surveillance technology.
   

4. North Alabama leaders pitch Huntsville to Space Command personnel at transition seminar (waff.com) — Space Command personnel are in Huntsville this week for a Redstone Arsenal Mission Integration Seminar that showcases the community to workers considering relocating from Colorado Springs. Tours of Redstone, Marshall Space Flight Center, and local amenities aim to ease moves for military and civilian families, with leaders emphasizing schools, housing, and support services available in the Rocket City.
   

5. Huntsville Utilities addresses water taste concerns amid 'forever chemicals' lawsuit (rocketcitynow.com) — If your Huntsville tap water has tasted off lately, utilities officials say it's due to seasonal conditions, not the PFAS "forever chemicals" at the center of their federal lawsuit against major manufacturers. Huntsville Utilities insists the water meets safety standards while planning treatment upgrades, as environmental advocates push for corporate accountability and some residents turn to home filtration systems for extra peace of mind.
