Local Realtor Haleigh Lehofer explains why buying now can still make sense, while Huntsville's latest annexation of 236 acres in Limestone County signals more single-family development and continued city growth.

2. UAH reports freshman class growth for third consecutive year (whnt.com) — Huntsville's own UAH is welcoming its third straight larger freshman class this fall, with 1,276 new students and especially strong growth from Alabama and Madison County. Officials say the incoming class is one of the most academically accomplished in recent history, and overall enrollment has climbed to 8,413 students. The gains include the first increase in new graduate enrollment in four years.

3. Colorado Springs leaders to visit Huntsville after Space Command fight (gazette.com) — Huntsville is preparing to host a 90-member delegation from Colorado Springs next week as both cities look to collaborate on aerospace, defense, and Space Command issues while the command relocates to Redstone Arsenal. With 140 staff already in Huntsville and $147 million in federal funding approved, leaders will tour Cummings Research Park and local space facilities. The visit aims to ease past tensions and coordinate advocacy that benefits both communities.

4. Space Camp welcomes visually impaired students from around the world (whnt.com) — Huntsville is hosting more than 160 blind and visually impaired students from across the U.S. and several countries this week for a specially adapted Space Camp program. Participants tackle scuba, ropes courses, and simulated missions with tailored support, while building a rare community with peers who share similar challenges and a passion for space and science.

5. Red Clay Strays returning to Huntsville for another headlining concert (al.com) — Huntsville music fans can look forward to Red Clay Strays headlining the Orion Amphitheater again on September 11, with St. Paul & The Broken Bones opening. Tickets go on sale October 9 through the Orion website and box office. The story also contrasts the band's rising popularity with Alabama Shakes and recalls their earlier small-club Huntsville shows.
