• Mobile Judge finds probable cause against man for girlfriend's death (wkrg.com) — A Mobile judge has found probable cause against 24-year-old Jakoby Fowler, accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend Saimara Washington inside his Hillcrest Estates apartment in June, and kept his bond at $1 million. Emotional testimony described multiple gunshots and investigators' account of Fowler's statements, as the case now heads to a grand jury, keeping a high-profile local homicide in the spotlight.
• Arizona resident reunites with long-lost uncle, inspires new rendition of famous Jewish song (jewishaz.com) — A long-lost uncle was rediscovered living at Gordon Oaks Senior Living in Mobile, sparking a heartfelt family reunion and renewed Jewish practice with help from Chabad of Mobile. The visit also inspired an updated version of the classic song "Minyan Man," finally performed in Mobile and celebrating the idea that there is now a real minyan and deeper Jewish connection in the city.
