• South Alabama Comic Con returns to Mobile Convention Center this weekend (fox10tv.com) — South Alabama Comic Con is taking over the Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center this weekend, giving locals an easy downtown escape into fandom. With celebrity guests, cosplay contests, kid-friendly activities, and a full-size replica of the Supernatural Impala, the convention runs today until 6 p.m. and continues Sunday from late morning into the afternoon.
   

• Mobile Christian stays hot, powered by QB Israel Benard (al.com) — Mobile Christian's offense stayed hot as quarterback Israel Benard threw three touchdown passes and the Leopards pulled away from Providence Christian for a 27–13 homecoming win. The defense tightened after halftime, keeping the Eagles scoreless and preserving Mobile Christian's fifth straight victory, setting up another home game next week against St. Luke's.
