The exhibit will highlight the tortoise’s role as a keystone species and feature kid-friendly conservation lessons, with construction expected to wrap up by the end of 2026.
• Two Alabama hospitals just 24 miles apart: Both in crisis, but not for the reason you may think (dothaneagle.com) — State lawmakers meeting at the State House in Montgomery are grappling with a worsening financial crisis facing rural hospitals, including facilities in Bay Minette and Atmore. • Governor Ivey Signs HB527 Into Law, Providing Overtime Tax Deduction (calhounjournal.com) — A new law signed in Montgomery creates a temporary state grocery tax holiday and lets eligible workers deduct up to $1,000 in overtime pay from Alabama income taxes.
