• Alabama Unemployment Claims Get New ID Verification (wiregrassdailynews.com) — If you file a new unemployment claim from Montgomery or anywhere in Alabama after Sept. 30, you'll have to verify your identity through Login.gov within 10 days or risk delays or denial. State officials say the new system aims to cut fraud while offering options for online, post office, or in-person verification at Career Centers.
   

• Troy's early lead slips in 27-17 loss to No. 20 Missouri (wsfa.com) — A ranked Missouri team edged Troy 27-17 in a nonconference matchup played at Montgomery's Memorial Stadium, where Troy's early lead slipped away after costly turnovers. Local fans saw big plays from Goose Crowder and TK Keyes, but Missouri's special teams and defense controlled the second half. Troy now turns its attention to a road trip at Utah State.
