Highlands School Appoints Four New Board Members

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - The Board of Trustees of Highlands School recently announce the election of four new members. Derry Bunting, Mary Goodrich, Amy Neiman and Hampton Stephens join the board after William Morrow, Dottie Pak and Bart Stephens completed their terms of service.

Bunting is a past trustee of Highlands, a parent of Highlands alumni and a grandparent of current Highlands students; Goodrich is a certified public accountant by training and has also shared her expertise with many non-profit organizations, and she currently serves as the executive director of the Alabama Ballet and is the mother of current Highlands’ students; Neiman is a past elementary school teacher and avid volunteer having served many civic organizations, and has given much of her time and talents to Highlands School having served as president of Parents Auxilliary, co-chair of the 2018 Diamond Jubilee/auction, room parent, grade level representative, coach, and Boy Scout leader; Stephens is an architect by training and an active artist and interior designer, and served as co-chair of the 2016 auction, Fall Festival co-chair, and as a soccer coach.

In addition to electing new trustees, the board elected Eileen Markstein to serve a one-year emeritus term after completing several terms. Eileen is the co-founder of Markstein, a marketing communications agency. At Highlands, she has served as a member of the Executive Committee and has chaired the Strategic Planning Committee and the Marketing Committee. She will continue to share her talents as we continue implementing our current Strategic Plan and look towards our next one. Eileen is the mother of current Highlands’ students.
