School Zone Signs For Wilderness Road Approved By Council

As carpool lines have become more prominent on Wildreness Road in Cherokee Bend, two School Zone signs will be placed on the road.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - As carpool lines at Cherokee Bend Elementary School have moved from Kennesaw Drive to Wilderness road, the Mountain Brook City Council approved the installation of two School Zone signs on Wilderness. The issue arose due to difficulty in seeing the crosswalks when cars are lined up along the edge of the road. Wilderness Road also does not currently have a school zone speed limit or a school zone sign.

A report by Village Living said the city will install two school zone signs on Wilderness Road- standard yellow signs with children walking - with five blinking LED lights on the outer edges. The lights will be solar-powered and equipped with two solar panels and two battery packs.
