Spartans Make Final Four With Win Over Huffman

The Mountain Brook Spartans basketball team defeated Huffman 77-71 to make its fifth Final Four appearance in six years.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - The Mountain Brook Spartans basketball team is making another trip to the AHSAA Tournament Final Four, after they defeated Huffman 77-71 in Jacksonville Tuesday. This is will be the Spartans' fifth trip to the state semifinals in the last six years.

The Spartans were led by Regional Tournament MVP Trendon Watford's 27 points and eight rebounds. William Lineberry added 17 points and was named to the All-Tournament team.

The Spartans improved to 31-4 on the season, and await the results of the game between Auburn and Central-Phenix City Tuesday afternoon. McGill-Toolen and Sparkman will play in the other semifinal game.
