• Oak Mountain outlasts Pelham with dominant fifth set (shelbycountyreporter.com) — Pelham volleyball fans saw a thriller as the Panthers and Oak Mountain Eagles traded three straight 25-21 sets before Oak Mountain pulled away in a decisive 15-3 fifth set at Pelham High School. The tight county matchup showcased how evenly matched the teams were early, with Pelham grabbing the first set before momentum swung back and forth all night.
   

• Outdoor Alabama Photo Contest is now open (alreporter.com) — Pelham nature lovers can currently view the 2026 Outdoor Alabama Photo Contest exhibit at Oak Mountain State Park's Interpretive Center through September 16. At the same time, entries are now open statewide for the 2027 contest, with categories for everything from wildlife to young photographers and a deadline of October 30 for Alabama residents and visitors.
