• Reid's two birthday INTs seal Helena's seventh-straight win ... (shelbycountyreporter.com) — Pelham High's football team fell 27-21 to rival Helena after two late interceptions by Helena's Nathan Reid, dropping the Panthers to 2-1. Quarterback Smith threw for 171 yards and three total touchdowns, but Pelham's comeback bid fell short. The Panthers now prepare to host Homewood at Ned Bearden Stadium on Sept. 11.
   

• Outdoor Alabama Photo Contest now open (cullmantribune.com) — Right now you can see the 2026 Outdoor Alabama Photo Contest exhibit at Oak Mountain State Park's Interpretive Center in Pelham through September 16. At the same time, entries are open statewide for the 2027 contest, which highlights Alabama's wildlife, parks, and scenery. Local residents can both enjoy the nearby display and start planning their own submissions.
