• Together Under One Flag celebration set for Sept. 27 in Pelh... (shelbycountyreporter.com) — Pelham residents can gather at Pelham City Park on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. for the free Together Under One Flag celebration honoring veterans and America's 250th anniversary. Organizers hope neighbors will bring chairs or blankets, enjoy live music, learn from American Legion displays, and leave feeling more connected to Pelham and proud to call the city home.
   

• Pelham trash rates could rise to $33 amid higher diesel costs (wbrc.com) — Pelham homeowners may see their monthly trash and recycling bill jump from about $27 to nearly $33 starting in January, as city leaders respond to rising diesel and maintenance costs. The City Council will vote Monday on shifting more of the system's cost from the general fund directly onto customers and possibly allowing future automatic rate increases tied to inflation.
