Pros from Pelham Racquet Club and USTA Alabama will group players by age, teach basic strokes, and offer an easy, low-pressure way for all ages to see if tennis is for them.
2. Music in the Park returns to Pelham with three Sundays of fr... (shelbycountyreporter.com) — Pelham's Music in the Park series returns to Pelham City Park on Sundays, Oct. 4, 11 and 18, offering free live music, games and food trucks. Each evening features a different genre, kid-friendly activities, and a relaxed way for families and neighbors to unwind together outdoors.

Pelham police chief placed on administrative leave; city declines to explain why (abc3340.com) — Pelham's police chief, Ed Delmore, has been placed on administrative leave, but city officials say they cannot share details because it's a personnel matter. Residents are still waiting for answers about why he's out, whether he's being paid, and who is currently leading the department.
4. 9 spine-chilling Halloween events in Birmingham for 2026 (bhamnow.com) — Pelham thrill-seekers have two big Halloween draws close to home: the Warehouse 31 haunted attraction on Lee Street, running nightly through Oct. 31 with a special lantern-lit "Unchained" night, and the Halloween Havoc night race at Oak Mountain State Park on Oct. 24. The guide also highlights other haunted houses, ghost tours and spooky events around greater Birmingham.
