At the latest Board of Education meeting, leaders approved a five-year capital plan and celebrated standout achievements from cheer, band, and student organizations across the district.
4. Pelham Cheer starts season with regional championship, state... (shelbycountyreporter.com) — Pelham High School Cheer is kicking off its new season with a regional championship and a bid to the state competition, building on last year's nationals run. Backed by Pelham Park Middle School Cheer and strong community support, the squad's early success is boosting confidence for tougher state and national stages ahead.
5. People remember the life of Glen Spence at memorial in Alabaster (wvtm13.com) — Residents are gathering along Highway 11 to honor beloved community member Glen "Mister Mo" Spence, after remains found near Pelham were preliminarily identified as his. A memorial at a local Alabaster church invites notes and flowers, and organizers plan a Sunday evening candlelight vigil while authorities await autopsy results.
