Engineers will monitor collision data over the coming months, while local pastors and residents say traffic already feels calmer and hope the changes make this busy gateway safer for everyone.
   

• More details emerge on the Cahaba Valley Innovation Center (trussvilletribune.com) — High schoolers from Pinson Valley will gain access to the planned Cahaba Valley Innovation Center, funded by a $12 million CTE grant shared by Trussville and Jefferson County schools. Leaders envision advanced labs in fields like engineering, biomedical science, media, and HVAC, potentially costing up to $25 million and helping local students land high-paying careers without a four-year degree.
   

• Finalists announced, voting open for 2026 Tribune Readers' Choice Awards (trussvilletribune.com) — Pinson residents can now vote for their favorite local restaurants, shops, and services in the Tribune Readers' Choice Awards, which include businesses from Pinson and eight neighboring cities. Voting runs through Oct. 29, with one ballot allowed per device daily, and winners to be celebrated later this fall at a public event in the Trussville Entertainment District.
