• Capital murder trial will continue into second week, defendant to testify again (wtva.com) — Testimony continues this week in Colbert County in the capital murder trial of Brian Martin, who is accused of fatally shooting Sheffield Police Sergeant Nick Risner during a 2021 pursuit. Martin is expected back on the stand Tuesday, with more defense witnesses, including a mental health expert, before jurors eventually decide both guilt and possible death penalty.
