• Alabama Department of Transportation opens widened I-59 northbound lanes in Trussville (yellowhammertimes.com) — Drivers in Trussville now have an extra northbound lane on I-59 between I-459 and Chalkville Mountain Road, easing congestion on one of the area's busiest stretches. ALDOT has also reopened the US-11 ramp to I-459 North, with remaining work on the $70 million project scheduled through Spring 2027.
   

• Hewitt-Trussville flag football off to strong start under Frederick (trussvilletribune.com) — Hewitt-Trussville's girls flag football team is off to a 2-1 start, including a key region win, giving Trussville fans plenty to cheer about early in the season. Under first-year coach Cole Frederick, the defense has piled up interceptions while backup quarterback Taylor McLaughlin has stepped in confidently after an injury to the returning starter.
