1. Trussville awarded $1 million to upgrade Masonic Park playground (trussvilletribune.com) — Trussville is getting a $1 million federal grant to overhaul the Masonic Park playground, with the city matching that amount for a total $2 million investment. Plans include new playground equipment, a picnic shelter, sidewalks, tables, fencing and a senior exercise area. City leaders say the project will create the largest playground in the region, serving families across Jefferson County.

The club meets Wednesday mornings at First Baptist Church Trussville.
3. 42 October 2026 events in Birmingham: Magic City Classic, Furnace Fest + more (bhamnow.com) — One standout October event for Trussville residents is the annual Bookin' It 5K on October 10, which raises money for the Trussville Public Library's year-round programs and starts at the library on Parkway Drive. Registration is discounted through October 2, and runners get chip timing and a T-shirt, plus early-morning sponsor tables, giveaways and food trucks. The broader roundup also spotlights dozens of other Birmingham-area festivals, concerts and family activities throughout the month.
4. Edwards Lake Road paving moved up to Oct. 12 (trussvilletribune.com) — Paving work on Edwards Lake Road, along the stretch from Springville Road to U.S. 11 toward Trussville, has been moved up to Monday, October 12.
