Now a kinesiology major and community volunteer with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, she'll vie for scholarships and a year of service representing UA at the Oct. 17 pageant.
   

• Hewitt-Trussville flag football extends winning streak to four with victories over Thompson, McAdory (trussvilletribune.com) — Hewitt-Trussville's girls flag football team has pushed its winning streak to four games, now sitting at 7-3 after strong defensive showings against Thompson and McAdory. With standout performances from players like Erin Coleman, Taylor McLaughlin, Kaylee White, and Emma Gilmer, the Lady Huskies head to Hoover on Oct. 15 aiming to keep the momentum going.
