GREENSBORO, AL —A Greensboro Police officer and a suspect were both injured in a shooting Thursday in Hale County.

The Moundville Times newspaper first reported on Facebook Thursday evening that the incident occurred earlier in the evening when a Greensboro Police officer initiated a traffic stop that quickly turned violent.
During the encounter, both the officer and a suspect exchanged gunfire, resulting in unspecified injuries to both individuals.
The newspaper reported both the officer and the suspect were transported from the scene by air ambulance.
Their conditions were not immediately available Thursday night.
