TUSCALOOSA, AL — Locals are invited to gather in downtown Tuscaloosa next month as part of the annual National Day of Prayer, which coincides with milestone anniversaries for both the event and the nation.

Event organizers in Tuscaloosa say the 2026 observance marks the 75th anniversary of the National Day of Prayer, as well as the upcoming 250th birthday of the United States.
The Tuscaloosa event is scheduled for Thursday, May 7, from noon until 1 p.m. at Government Plaza.
The hourlong program will include prayer, music and fellowship.
The event is free and open to the public.
