TUSCALOOSA, AL — Two people were injured in a shooting late Saturday night during a large gathering in west Tuscaloosa.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said officers with the Tuscaloosa Police Department responded around 9 p.m. to Hay Court near the 4400 block of 21st Street.
Witnesses told police a physical altercation involving multiple individuals broke out during the gathering, and gunfire was exchanged during the incident.
Kennedy said two people were struck by gunfire and suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
No additional details, including potential suspects or arrests, were immediately available.
