TUSCALOOSA, AL — Investigators are on the scene of a shooting in the DCH Regional Medical Center parking lot that left a woman dead.

Captain Marty Sellers of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit told local media Tuesday afternoon that a male suspect was in custody after a woman died from a gunshot wound.
The circumstances of the shooting are unclear at this time.
The Tuscaloosa Police Department is also on the scene.
"DCH Health System is aware of a shooting in a parking lot outside DCH Regional Medical Center (RMC) on Tuesday afternoon," the hospital system said in a statement. "There is no current threat, and hospital operations have not been impacted by the incident. DCH is fully cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate the incident."
