The ceremony, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the park at 1701 McFarland Boulevard East.
In the event of inclement weather, the program will move indoors to University Mall at the Belk Men’s Atrium entrance.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Andrew M. Del Gaudio, department commander for the Alabama Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Del Gaudio, a retired Marine Corps infantry officer, served 26 years and deployed to Haiti, Iraq and Afghanistan. His military honors include the Bronze Star Medal with Combat “V,” the Purple Heart and the Combat Action Ribbon.
“Memorial Day is a day of honor and remembrance,” PARA CEO Brian C. Davis said. “It is a time when we pause to remember and honor those servicemembers who gave their lives in defense of our freedom.”
