TCSS says immediate opportunities are available for both bus drivers and bus aides through the TCSS Transportation Department.

TCSS also mentioned that it provides all training needed for participants to earn a Class B commercial driver’s license with passenger and school bus endorsements, as well as the State of Alabama School Bus Operator’s Certificate.

The county school system said the positions include health insurance and retirement benefits, along with opportunities for additional driving assignments and increased earnings based on availability. Officials also noted the schedules can work well for those seeking part-time employment or jobs aligned with the school calendar.

The New Driver Training Class will run from June 2 through June 29 at the Northport Bus Shop, located at 3700 68th Ave. in Northport.

Classes are scheduled from 7:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on the following dates:

State certification testing is projected for July 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17. Tests will be conducted individually by appointment.
