The district is offering a $2,000 signing bonus for all newly hired bus drivers.
TCS says starting pay is $23.80 per hour, and employees are eligible for benefits including health insurance and participation in the state retirement system.
The hiring fair is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, June 8, at the TCS Transportation Department, located at 1302 James I. Harrison Jr. Parkway.
Prospective applicants will be able to apply and interview on site.
School system officials said the district will cover the cost of required training and compensate new hires while they complete the training process.
"We're looking for people who enjoy driving and who enjoy working with children," Transportation Director Tiny McCool said. "This position is a great fit for people who have flexible schedules and would like to earn additional income, including cosmetologists, realtors, ministers and others. We provide the training, we pay you while you train, and you'll have the opportunity to play an important role in safely transporting our students every day."
Candidates must have a clean driving record and meet all state requirements for school bus drivers.
School officials encourage interested applicants to learn more about employment opportunities with the transportation department through the district's transportation webpage.
