TUSCALOOSA, AL — Downed power lines have forced the closure of a portion of Alabama Highway 69 North in Tuscaloosa County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said troopers were notified at approximately 4:45 p.m. Monday of downed power lines across Alabama 69 near the 178-mile marker in Windham Springs.
The roadway will be closed for an undetermined amount of time while crews respond to the scene.
ALEA said troopers are assisting with traffic control and monitoring the situation, while motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the roadway can be safely reopened.
ALEA said it will provide updates as more information becomes available.
