HOLT, AL. — The Tuscaloosa County School System (TCSS) has selected veteran educator Joe Biggs Jr. as the next principal of Holt Elementary School.

He comes to Holt Elementary after serving as assistant principal at Paul W. Bryant High School in the city school system.
"It has been such a ride to work at Paul W. Bryant High School these past three years," Biggs wrote in a Facebook post. "However, I've accepted the job of principal at Holt Elementary School. I'm so excited for this next journey and opportunity to pour into the students of the community."
Biggs has spent the last three years in his previous role at Paul W. Bryant High School and has been an educator for nearly two decades.
Prior to his time at Bryant High, he served as assistant principal at Gordo High School in neighboring Pickens County.
A native of Tuscaloosa and graduate of Central High School, Biggs was a standout on the gridiron and went on to play linebacker at Stillman College, where earned a degree in elementary education.
He went on to obtain a master's degree in instructional leadership from University of West Alabama.
