Beginning Monday, July 6, residents may pay off a $25 overtime parking ticket by donating at least $15 worth of school supplies.

Donations valued at $30 or more will be accepted in lieu of two $25 overtime parking tickets.

The city said all donated supplies will be given to Tuscaloosa City Schools and distributed to students in need ahead of the new school year.

Residents can bring qualifying school supply donations to Tuscaloosa Municipal Court, located at 2122 Gary Fitts St., between July 6 and July 31.

City officials said the program applies only to eligible $25 overtime parking tickets.
