Tuscaloosa County District 1 Commissioner Stan Acker announced that the Tuscaloosa County Engineering Department will begin replacing the 48-inch cross drain on Friday, July 17.

The work will take place on Tierce Patton Road between Edwardian Drive and Beacon Point Drive.

Acker said the work will require a full closure of the roadway while construction is underway.

County officials expect the road to reopen to traffic by Monday, July 20, weather permitting.

To help motorists prepare, message boards will be placed along Tierce Patton Road ahead of the closure to notify local traffic of the upcoming project.

Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time during the closure.
