TUSCALOOSA, AL — Adults interested in learning one of the fastest-growing tabletop games will have the chance later this month when United Way of West Alabama's ReUnited program hosts a two-part Mahjong class series at the FOCUS50+ McAbee Activity Center.

ReUnited says the beginner-friendly "Mahjong Master Class Series" is scheduled for July 21 and July 23 from 10 a.m. to noon.
The classes are designed for newcomers as well as those looking to learn the fundamentals of the classic tile-based game, which blends strategy, skill and luck.
Instructor Tracie McDaniel will lead both sessions and provide all Mahjong tiles needed for participants.
Each class will begin with a 90-minute hands-on lesson before transitioning into free play, giving attendees an opportunity to practice what they've learned.
The cost is $20 per class or $40 for the full two-class series.
Registration includes coffee, tea and tea sandwiches, as well as entry into a drawing for a Mahjong playing set and mat.
Advance registration is required and organizers encourage participants to sign up early because space is limited.
